We were planning a refurbishment and remodelling exercise on our home, with so many planning restrictions being lifted we were unclear whether we required planning approval, with this in mind we approached Gordon Cole for advice and architectural services.

From the outset Gordon listened intently to our design brief, and provided us with great suggestions, together we developed our plans, these were based upon a carefully prepared survey which served as the starting point for developing our plans. We wished to get started on the work as soon as possible and a timescale was agreed and kept to throughout.

The importance of having the correct documentation in place for future local authority searches and legal questionnaires when the property is next sold, instructions were given to Gordon to obtain planning permission and later make application for building regulation approval. Both applications were handled expertly and approvals were received within the statutory timescale allowing us to start construction early 2020 as we sought.

Ongoing assistance was a great help, willingly sharing AutoCad files with our kitchen designers as an example. The detail of drawings allowed for easy procurement and build programme, our work were substantially completed within 11 weeks, lockdown eventually causing a few small logjams!
